After years of speculation, The Force Awakens is finally in the rear view window and attention has already shifted to the next film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
A couple of days ago we posted a story about some leaked details revealed by Joblo.com on some of the new characters we can expect in the new film. You read about that here.
Now MakingStarwars.net have released the first bit of information on Forrest Whitaker’s character in the new film.
“It appears he has one leg and uses a cane as a crutch to walk. Earlier reports made it seem like he might have one leg but the clarification on the topic is a ‘robot leg.’
He appears to be a veteran of some battles, but it isn’t clear if he lost his leg fighting in The Clone Wars or against the Empire.
Based on a differentiated code name from the rest of the rebels in the movie, it appears he is likely good but maybe a bounty hunter affiliated type.
He has a cape and his costume is a hodgepodge of different things (think of someone you might see at Maz’s castle)”.
Its worth mentioning that none of this information is confirmed just rumours and likely speculation aided by information from a inside source. So take anything you read with a pinch of salt.
However if true Whitakers character sounds very unique, unlike anything we have seen in Star Wars before. No doubt casting a name as big as Whitaker’s, its safe to assume his character will have a sizeable role in the new film.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is to be directed by Godzilla director Gareth Edwards and the screenplay is written by Gary Whitta and Chris Weltz. The film stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk and Johnathan Aris.
Rogue One is set to be released 16th December 2016.
