Variety is reporting that Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson has made a deal with paramount to produce a film on the recent Volkswagen clean diesel scandal which has caused their stock price to plummet and has them facing having to pay billions in fines.
Paramount acquired the rights by purchasing Jack Ewing’s new book on the scandal. Volkswagen had recently got in trouble after illegal software was found in their cars to cheat fuel emission tests. The software itself knew when it was being tested and turned on the emission control to cheat the test.
Previously DiCaprio’s producing credits include ‘The Wolf Of Wall Street’, ‘Out of The Furnace’ and ‘Runner, Runner’. His next film ‘The Revenant’ is set to hit cinemas on Christmas day.
