Few men have more power in entertainment than Disney chairman Bob Iger. Between Disney owning Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars. Most of the highest grossing films of the last few years have come from Disney.
As Force Awaken is about to become the third film in history to make $2 billion worldwide, its understandable that Disney are keen to make more Star Wars films. In an interview with BBC Newsbeat he spoke on whats to come from the franchise in the next few year.
“There are five Star Wars film – four more with Episode VII: The Force Awakens – that are in varying stages of development and production”.
We have known for some time that besides the new trilogy we were getting three anthology films, Rogue One (which comes out later this year), a young Han Solo film and a Boba Fett film.
Speaking on what comes beyond Episode IX however is unknown until now. When asked about whats next he said “There will be more after that, I don’t know how many, I don’t know how often.”
When asked about the future of his other big property Marvel Studios he said “Marvel you’re dealing with thousands and thousands of characters – that will go on forever.’
So there you have it, tons of Star Wars and Marvel to look foreword to.
