With just 2 months to go till the Force Awakens hits cinemas, the anticipation is at fever pitch as more information has been released about the anticipated film. Finally the new trailer is expected to be released on monday aswell as Tickets going on pre-sale. Also io9 is reporting that their sources have told them that the official poster for the film will be released tomorrow.
Aswell as all that to look foreword to, more information is being released about the film itself with the run time for the film being reported to be 2 hours 16 minutes according to Screencrush. If this is true it would make Force Awakens the second longest Star Wars film with Attack Of The Clones being 2 hours 22 minutes.
And finally Kathleen Kennedy in an interview with the Guardian this week said that she is planning to hire a female director for one of the upcoming spin off films. She said “There’s nothing we’d like more than to find a female director for Star Wars. Having a balance of men and women in the room changes the story, the dialogue the point of view”. Kennedy talked about the importance of Daisy Ridley’s character ‘Rey’ in the upcoming films explaining that she is “extremely significant, I don’t want to spoil the story”.
Kennedy added “It’s a lot to do with opportunity and there has to be a concerted effort to create the opportunity. Part of our Job is to nurture talent. We need to not go to a filmmaker who’s done one movie and expect them to come in and do something the size of Star Wars without having an opportunity to find other movies they can do along the way.”
Star Wars The Force Awakens hits cinemas on December 17th.
