Weekend Box Office: Kung Fu Panda 3 cruises into 1st place in US Box Office, The Force Awakens close to $2 billion Worldwide

The weekend US box office results are in from this past weekend, and Kung Fu Panda 3 cruised into top spot opening weekend, making $41 million. Second spot went to last weeks highest earner The Revenant Making $12.4 million in its 6th weekend, whilst Star Wars The Force Awakens came in at 3rd making $10.3 million in its 7th week in cinemas. Whilst also opening this week, disaster film The Finest Hours came in at 4th place making $10.3 Million opening weekend.

Meanwhile other new releases Comedy Fifty Shades of Black and western Jane got a Gun both bombed epically. Fifty Shades of black just creeped into the top 10 making just $6.1 million opening weekend. Whilst Jane Got A Gun didn’t even make the top 15 making just $803,000 after a run in 1,210 cinemas across America.

Meanwhile in Worldwide Box Office new, Star Wars: The Force Awakens  is expected to cross $2 billion worldwide this week making it just $186,000 short of the 2nd highest grossing film of all time Titanic. Despite Force Awakens money intake slowing down considerably it will likely still pass Titanic before its run in cinemas is finished. Below is the complete US Box Office results of this weekend.
